What a ride! It's hard to find where to begin. Well, I might as well start by saying that I don't quite like how the stars are looking, and that I might add RGB ones instead later on. Or that I expected more definition around the borders of the dragons, especially on the right side. Or even that I'm still not convinced I should have applied a round of morphological transformation, even though I'm not completely satisfied by the original star size either.
But that won't take away any of my joy of putting together this image: a composition of 3 mosaics containing 4 pannels each, taken with Sii, Ha and Oiii filters, over 8 different nights, under a Bortle 9 sky, and adding up to almost 15 hours of exposure and countless others of processing.
Half of the time that I spent working on the images was just organizing my files. A great other chunk of it was deleting stuff from my computer, since all in all, the files are summing up to 205GB of data. There were MANY learnings in the process, and I'm hoping I can take them to the next project. Im' also hopping I can eventually revisit this image, once I have a better sky avaiable, so I can add more clear data do it
